Launched in May 2002, LUX Media and LUX Kids were formed to be the trade publishing arm of the Cheong Moon Gak family of companies.

LUX Media was created to publish adult non-fiction titles, both domestic and translated, covering a wide range of subjects, from the biography of a famous movie star to books on men by Japan’s most famous tea house owner. More recently it has been reorganised to focus more on business and management books.

By far the most significant offering to Korean business publishing is LUX Media's partnership with Wharton School Publishing, the exciting new venture from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and the Pearson Education publishing company. As the exclusive Korean partner of Wharton School Publishing, LUX Media is very proud to be able to provide Korean business readers with some of the most innovative business books around today. These books concentrate on providing the businessperson with information that is not only comprehensive and thought provoking, but far more importantly information that is practical and implementable.

LUX Kids was started primarily to publish books for eight to twelve year old children that would teach science in a fun and engaging way. Since then LUX Kids has added books about history and a number of richly illustrated educational fiction books. The ultimate aim of LUX Kids is to simply continue making education fun for the children that read our books.

It is our goal that the LUX Media companies will continue to both entertain and enlighten, and to bring books with great content and value to our Korean readers for many years to come.
